Lou was born in Houston, TX and is a Graduate of the University of Texas (BS). He studied music at the Univeristy of North Texas and then recieved his Masters of Music in jazz performance at the University of Miami. As a student he was awarded the Outstanding Musicianship Award from NAJE.
After moving to New York, he toured with the Duke Ellington Orchestra, inluding live performances with Ella Fitzgerald, Red Rodney and Cedar Walton.
While a resident of Nashville, in the early 90's, he performed with artists including David Ball, Johnny Lee as well as recording work for Polygram Publishing and Asylum Records. He also particpated in studio sessions with Mark O'Connor, Marty Stuart, Vasser Clements and John and Jamie Hartford.
Currently, Lou lives in Dallas, perfoming locally, live and in the studio as well as teaching bass in the Dallas Community College System. He has been with Inside Out for 7 years.
